The Star Beacon is seeking a Full - Time Copy Editor - Excellent proofreading skills are required. Familiarity with AP style is a plus. * * Salary Negotiable. Benefits Available. * * Job includes checking stories for factual errors, grammar, spelling, punctuation and usage. Writing headlines and captions as required; completing page design and layout as assigned; designing special sections as assigned; covering pre - press technician on days off, including generating classified pages, TV book and special sections for print. Covering ad services and layout position on days off, scheduling advertising and transmitting ads to customer for proofing, and page layout.
